Abstract
In this paper, the main research subject is sustainable waste management, and consequently utility workers’ perception on public behaviour in regards to habits they perform in waste disposal. Due to the increasing amount and harmfulness of waste to the environment, it is considered to be one of the most important problems of the modern world. Waste is generated at all levels, national and local, in households, manufacturing facilities, public administration, retail stores, educational institutions, tourism organizations and enterprises, medical institutions, military institutions, etc. Disposal of municipal and industrial waste without any impact to the environment is one of the major issues facing modern society. More than 150 waste collecting workers covering the territory of 10 Belgrade municipalities participated in the survey. In order to evaluate the results of the survey, statistical software package SPSS 20 was used. And discussion on results is presented in the conclusion of the paper.
