Abstract

THE EFFECT OF THE BALANCE OF EXTERNAL PAYMENTS ON THE ECONOMIC GROWTH

Abstract

When there are trade exchanges between two nations, many types of financial transactions are recorded in a summary called the balance of payments. Balance of payments is a record of economic transactions between residents of a country and the rest of the world. Nations are keeping track of the balance of payments over a one-year period. Also, quarterly records are kept.
An international transaction is an exchange of goods, services or assets between residents of a country and other countries. But what is the term resident? Residents include businesses, individuals, and government agencies that have their country of domicile. Although a corporation is considered to be the resident of the country in which it is registered, its subsidiaries or subsidiaries abroad are not. Military personnel, government diplomats, tourists and workers temporarily emigrating are considered residents of the country where they have their citizenship.
