Abstract
The article discusses various scientific and theoretical approaches and makes appropriate generalizations about the development of logistics as a new direction of economic science, its main paradigms, goals and concepts. The distribution logistics system, being an effective form of supply organization in the conditions of market relations, provides interaction and integration of business processes of shippers, consumers, transport and service organizations.
A systematic analysis of the functional areas of distribution logistics (information, inventory management, warehousing and transportation) was carried out and the effectiveness of their work was evaluated. It also provides evidence-based proposals and recommendations for improving the management mechanism of the distribution logistics system.
