Abstract
În acest articol autorii au abordat importanța indicilor statistici, având în vedere faptul că aceștia stau la baza unor analize statistico-econometrice ale diverselor fenomene economice, putând fi utilizați în mod direct la măsurarea variației fenomenelor sau la descompunerea variaţiei fenomenelor complexe pe factori de influenţă.
Au fost avute în vedere posibilitățile de descompunere ale variației relative pe factori de influență și descompunerea variației în mărimi absolute. În acest context, au fost analizate în mod detaliat principalele metode de descompunere a variației unei variabile complexe pe factori de influență.
De asemenea, în articol autorii au acordat atenție în ceea ce privește avantajele şi dezavantajele utilizării bazei fixe sau a utilizării bazei mobile, în lanţ, pentru calculul indicelui prețurilor, având în vedere faptul indicele de preț este o mărime sau o funcţie care sintetizează modificarea preţurilor mai multor mărfuri şi servicii la un moment dat.

The method of statistical indices used in macroeconomic studies
Abstract
In this article, the authors addressed the importance of statistical indices, given that they are the basis of statistical-econometric analysis of various economic phenomena, can be used directly to measure the variation of phenomena or to break down the variation of complex phenomena by influencing factors.
The possibilities of decomposition of the relative variation on influencing factors and the decomposition of the variation into absolute quantities were considered. In this context, the main methods of decomposing the variation of a complex variable by influencing factors were analysed in detail.
In the article, the authors also paid attention to the advantages and disadvantages of using the fixed base or the use of the mobile base, in the chain, for the calculation of the price index, given that the price index is a quantity or function that summarizes the change in prices several goods and services at a time.
