Abstract
În acest articol, autorii se axează pe prezentarea unor aspecte semnificative privind apariția, consolidarea și dezvoltarea statisticii oficiale românești. Se trec în revistă contextul în care s-au stabilit, pentru prima dată, oficiile de statistică în Moldova și Țara Românească și, apoi evoluția, etapă cu etapă, a instituției oficiale de statistică, sub cele mai diverse denumiri, până în zilele noastre. În continuare, se efectuează o analiză a domeniului silvicultură și exploatare forestieră. Se prezintă serii de date și grafice care dau sugestivitate și confirmă opiniile exprimate.

Abstract
In this article, the authors focus on presenting significant aspects regarding the emergence, consolidation and development of official Romanian statistics. The context in which the statistical offices in Moldavia and Wallachia were established for the first time, and then the evolution stage of the official statistical institution, under the most diverse denominations, to this day. An analysis of forestry and logging is then carried out. There are series of data and graphs that give suggestion and confirm the expressed opinions.
